Price of petrol were remained unchanged on Monday for the sixth straight day while there is a marginal hike in diesel rates.
In national capital Delhi, petrol was sold at Rs 71.27 a litre, while diesel was priced at Rs 66 a litre. In Mumbai, prices of petrol and diesel were Rs 76.90 a litre and Rs 69.11 per litre, respectively.
In Kolkata, petrol was sold at Rs 73.36, while diesel was sold at Rs 67.78 a litre. In Chennai, petrol and diesel prices were at Rs 73.99 and Rs 69.72 a litre, respectively.
The fuel prices depend upon global fuel prices on a 15-day average and also on the value of the rupee.
Crude oil prices fell on Monday on the hopes of an increase in crude oil production after U.S. energy firms added rigs for the 1st time this year. While US spot crude futures were at $53.37 per barrel at 0027 GMT, down 32 cents, or 0.6%, from their past settlement, International Brent crude oil futures were at $61.37 a barrel, down 27 cents, or 0.4%.
