Petrol prices were down again on Thursday while diesel rates were unchanged for the second straight day. Petrol price came down between 18-19 paise per litre across major cities. The cut in fuel prices over the last two weeks has provided much relief to the consumers.
In the country’s business capital Mumbai, petrol was priced at Rs 84.86 per litre while diesel was sold at Rs 77.32 per litre.
In New Delhi, petrol was priced at Rs 79.37 per litre while Diesel was sold at Rs 73.78 per litre. Today, petrol at Rs 77.26 per litre while diesel was priced at Rs 71.77 per litre.
In Kolkata, petrol being sold at Rs 81.25 per litre and diesel at Rs 75.63 per litre.
In Chennai, petrol being sold at Rs 82.46 while diesel was sold at Rs 78per litre.
Earlier in the month, the government announced to cut excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 1.50 per litre each and asked state-owned fuel retailers to subsidise by another Re 1 a litre.
