Prices of petrol and diesel remained unchanged on Wednesday after a marginal fall on Tuesday. In national capital Delhi, petrol is retailing at Rs 70.44 while diesel is sold at Rs 65.51 a litre, no change compared to yesterday’s price.
In Mumbai, petrol and diesel were selling Rs 76.08 and Rs 68.59, respectively. In Kolkata, petrol was sold at 72.55 and diesel was priced at Rs 67.29 per litre and in Chennai, petrol was sold at 73.11 and diesel priced at 69.20.
Retail petrol and diesel prices in India depend on both international oil price and the rupee-US dollar exchange rate.
In the international oil market, crude rates went higher amid concerns over the outlook for the global economy capped gains. Global Brent crude oil futures had yet to trade, after closing down 0.8 per cent in the previous session.
