Petrol and diesel prices were hiked on Monday. Petrol becomes costlier by 21-22 paise per litre across major cities of the country and diesel become costlier by 8-9 paise per litre.
In the national capital Delhi, petrol is priced at Rs 68.50 as compared to Rs 68.29 on Sunday and diesel is sold at Rs 62.24, as against Rs 62.16 yesterday.
In Mumbai, petrol is sold at Rs 74.16 per litre while diesel is priced at Rs 65.12 per litre. In Noida, petrol is sold at Rs 69.79 and diesel is sold at Rs 61.93 as compared to 61.73 on Sunday.
In Chennai, petrol is sold at Rs 71.07 while diesel is sold at Rs 65.70 on Monday. In Kolkata, petrol is priced at Rs 70.64 per litre while diesel is sold at Rs 64.01 per litre.
It may be noted that international Brent crude futures resumed its upward journey today as well and was 1.2 per cent higher at $57.77 per barrel. Crude rates have increased by over 5 per cent in the last three trading sessions. Fuel rates in the country depend on both international crude price and rupee-dollar exchange rate.
