At the National Museum in the Indian capital, Delhi, currently is a collection of the Nizam’s family jewellery is on the Display. Showed after 11 years, the collection includes 173 masterpieces, all posing beautiful and rare gems and craftsmanship.
There is also the Jacob diamond on the showcase which is said to be the 5th largest diamond in the world and, at precisely 184.50 carats, and this diamond is almost the double size of the famous Kohinoor diamond.
In the showcase, visitors can see the royal sheeth (case for the sword), karn phool (type of earrings), pearl necklaces, nath (nose ring), teen ladi haar (neckpiece with three layers), buttons, cufflinks, belts, buckles, pocket watch, choti tabiz (hair accessory), kangan (bangles), toe rings, pazeb (anklets), bracelets, brooch, sarpech (turban accessory), arm bands, chintak (neckpiece), haar murasa, rings, all of a rare and fascinating loveliness and studded with the most beautiful cut and uncut diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, rubies, and other gems. There is also a collection of 22 unset emerald pieces.
