Fuel rates were slashed for the 13th straight day on Tuesday following a reduction in international crude prices and the rupee’s appreciation against the US dollar.
After Today’s price revision petrol became cheaper by 21-23 paise, diesel prices cut by 30 paise across major cities of the country.
In national capital Delhi, petrol was priced at Rs 71.72 as against Rs 71.93 on Monday and diesel was selling at Rs 66.39 compared to Rs 66.66 yesterday.
In Mumbai, petrol rate was reduced at Rs 77.29 per litre from Rs 77.50 yesterday and Diesel price was cut by 29 paise to Rs 69.48 per litre as against Rs 69.77 on Monday.
In Chennai, petrol is selling at Rs 74.41 per litre on Tuesday as against Rs 74.63 yesterday and Diesel priced at Rs 70.09, down by 29 paise compared to Rs 70.38 yesterday.
In Kolkata petrol is selling at Rs 73.75 today compared to Rs 73.94 per litre yesterday and Diesel price cut by 27 paise to Rs 68.12 per litre.
Meanwhile, crude oil prices rose again on Tuesday after nearly a 5% spike on Monday. Brent crude futures were trading at $62.35 per barrel in Asian trade today. This shows the dropping spree in retail fuel rates in India may end soon. The rupee also cut down by over 1 per cent yesterday.
