Fuel prices were cut again on Saturday. The cut in fuel prices over the last two weeks has provided much-needed relief to the consumers. Petrol prices cut by 18-20 paise per litre across the metros cities while diesel rates cut by 12-15 paise per litre.
In the national capital Delhi, petrol was selling at Rs 78.99 per litre, down 19 paise while diesel was sold at 73.53 per litre, down 11 paise.
In Mumbai, petrol was selling at Rs 84.49, down 19 paise while diesel was priced at Rs 77.06 per litre down by 12 paise.
In Kolkata, petrol was priced at Rs 80.89 per litre while diesel was priced at 75.39 per litre.
In Chennai, petrol was sold at Rs 82.06 per litre while diesel was sold at Rs 77.73 per litre.
Earlier in the month, the government announced to cut excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 1.50 per litre each and asked state-owned fuel retailers to subsidise by another Re 1 a litre.
