Fuel prices were fell again on Friday. The cut in fuel prices over the last two weeks has provided much-needed relief to the consumers. Petrol rates cut by 18-20 paise per litre across the four metros cities while diesel rates cut by 13-15 paise per litre.
In the national capital Delhi, petrol was selling at Rs 79.18 per litre while diesel was sold at 73.64 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol was sold at Rs 84.68, down 18 paise while diesel was selling at Rs 77.18 per litre.
In Kolkata, petrol being sold at Rs 81.08 per litre and diesel at Rs 75.50 per litre. In Chennai, petrol was sold at Rs 82.26 per litre while diesel was sold at Rs 77.85 per litre.
Earlier in the month, the government announced to cut excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 1.50 per litre each and asked state-owned fuel retailers to subsidise by another Re 1 a litre.
