Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged for the second straight day on Thursday in four metros cities of the country.
According to Indian Oil Corporation data, In the national capital Delhi, petrol is selling at Rs 70.63 per litre while diesel is sold at Rs 64.54 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol is priced at Rs 76.25 per litre while diesel is sold at Rs 67.55 per litre.
In Chennai, petrol is sold at Rs 73.29 per litre while diesel is sold at Rs 68.14 per litre. In Kolkata, petrol is sold at Rs 72.71per litre while diesel is priced at Rs 66.30 per litre.
On Monday, the petrol price becomes costlier by 9-10 paise per litre while diesel price increased by 7-8 paise per litre in four metro cities, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.
It may be noted that petrol rates have declined by nearly 15-20 per cent from the record high levels they had touched in the month of October this year. Petrol rates decline is a result of dropping crude oil rates. Crude prices have fallen down by over 30 per cent since early month October when it hit $86 per barrel mark.
