Fuel prices were cut again on Friday as international crude oil prices continued to down and the Indian rupee also appreciated against the US dollar.
Today, fuel prices were cut down by 40 paise and 41 paise per litre in all major cities of the country.
In Delhi, petrol is being retailed at Rs 75.57 per litre while diesel costs Rs 70.56 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol is being sold at Rs 81.10 per litre and diesel rates at Rs 73.91 per litre.
In Kolkata, petrol costs Rs 77.53 per litre and diesel rates at Rs 72.41 per litre. In Chennai, petrol costs Rs 78.46 per litre, and diesel rates at Rs 74.55per litre.
In Bengaluru, petrol was sold at Rs 76.17 per litre while diesel at Rs 70.93 per litre. In Hyderabad, petrol was priced at Rs 80.12 per litre while diesel at Rs 76.77.
In November so far, petrol prices cut by nearly Rs 3 per litre while diesel has become cheaper by nearly Rs 2 per litre.
On October 4, the government announced to cut excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 1.50 per litre each and asked state-owned fuel retailers to subsidise by another Re 1 a litre.
