Diesel becomes costlier on Friday, no change in petrol rates


Petrol prices unchanged for the third straight day on Friday and diesel rates went up by 10 paise. Today, petrol in New Delhi is retailed at Rs 71.27 and diesel is sold at Rs 66 a litre as compared to Rs 65.90 yesterday.

In Mumbai, petrol is selling at Rs 76.90 per litre and diesel is sold at Rs 69.11 per litre, 10 paise higher than Thursday’s rate. In Chennai, petrol is sold at Rs 73.99 per litre while diesel is priced at Rs 69.72 per litre. In Kolkata, petrol is sold at Rs 73.36 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs 67.78, up 10 paisa.

In Noida, petrol is sold at  Rs 70.97 per litre and diesel is sold at Rs 65.15 per litre, up 9 paise. In Gurugram, petrol is sold at  Rs 71.99, no change compared to yesterday’s price while diesel is selling at Rs 65.76, up 10 paise.

In the international oil market, crude oil rates rose on Friday by more than 1 per cent as uproar in Venezuela prompted concerns that its oil exports could soon be interrupted. International Brent crude oil futures were trading at $61.89 per barrel, up 80 cents, or 1.3 per cent, from their past close.
