Valuables valued Rs 2 lakh stolen

VADODARA: Burglars continue to make hay while peoples are busy enjoying holiday season or sleeping on terraces of their houses to beat heat. On Tuesday, Deepak kumar Vishwakarma, who work in IT company on Sarabhai Road as an operations consultant and lives in the MIG flats near Samta police chowki lodged a complaint of theft at Laxmipura police station.

He said thieves broke into his residence sometime between May 2 and 12, when the family was away on holiday at Varanasi.

According to the Police, complainant received a call from his neighbor on May 12 updating him that lock of his house was broken. Vishwakarma then asked another neighbor to install a new lock on main door and after come back on Tuesday, found that thieves had unlocked the safe using keys which had been hidden under mattress. They escaped with gold and silver made ornaments and a camera valued Rs 1.3 lakh and Rs 69,000 cash, the plaintiff alleged.
