Customs officials arrested two persons for allegedly trying to smuggle into country gold worth at over Rs. 37 lakhs at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International on Tuesday.
Customs officials said that two men were stopped after their arrival from Riyadh via Muscat early morning.
On examination, gold weighing 1.2 kg and valued at Rs. 37.68 lakh was seized from them. The gold which was in the form of bars was hidden in the motor of a mixer grinder and in cloth iron being carried by arrested passengers, officials said.
