The Jammu and Kashmir (JK) police Monday claimed to have detained a duo and recovered the stolen yellow metal made ornaments from his possession, here in the Reasi district.

According to police, “On May 5, on Subhash Chander lodged a police complaint stating that 2 motorcycle-borne masked men snatched his wife’s purse at the Dhanwa Capri. He claimed that purse contained two golden bangles, two golden rings, two earrings and cash Rs 1500.”

A FIR was lodged and an inquiry was launched, police said.

“During the course of enquiry, several suspects were rounded up and questioned,” the police said, adding that 2 suspects, identified as Jagdish Chander and Muhammad Tariq, were also put through questioning.

The duo confessed to crime and upon their disclosure, stolen yellow metal ornaments were recovered, police said.
