PUNE: On Sunday evening, a farmer(62) was stabbed in his stomach on service road of Katraj-Dehu Road bypass at Ravet for trying to resist from three peoples from snatching his gold chain valued Rs 60,000.
The victimis identified as Kisan Bhondve from Bhondve Vasti in Ravet, sustained injuries in his stomach. He is being treated at a hospital. Bhondve has lodged a FIR with Dehu Road police.
Prasad Dalvi, sub-inspector, Dehu Road police, told that complainant is a farmer from Ravet. “Every evening, he goes for a walk along the service road of the bypass,”.
On Sunday, around 4pm, when Bhondve reached in front of temple, 3 unknown men on a motorcycle blocked his path. “They got down from bike and pulled Bhondve’s gold made chain. When Bhondve put up a resistance, one of them stabbed him in his stomach with sharp weapon,”.
After Bhondve fell down, suspects snatched his gold made chain valued Rs 60,000 and drove away from the spot. “His uncle spotted him lying on road soaked in the blood and shifted him to a nearby hospital in autorickshaw. He also alerted police,” Dalvi said.
Dalvi said that police have registered an offence. “We are checking CCTV footages to ascertain identity of suspects,” he added.
