Mumbai: the police have arrested three men for alleged theft of gold ornaments from the jewellery shop where they worked. The police said the suspects were given diamond and gold ornaments worth Rs 57.6 lakh for polishing.
The police said, Kalyan Kar (37), claimed that he gave the ornaments to his employee Kirtia Payra, who escaped with the valuables to West Bengal.
Jareshwar Sudhir Maithi and Pintu Bhuya were arrested previous this week. The police have recovered the stolen ornaments. Payra newly started working at the shop.
He was given ornaments valued at Rs 57.6 lakh for polishing. Later, the case was registered last week after when the suspects didn’t return to the store with the ornaments.
