Customs officials arrested three persons including a woman from Sudan at Kempegowda International Airport for allegedly smuggling gold bars on Saturday.
Based on Tip-off, soon after the passengers landed in the airport, they were taken into custody and seized 4.4 kg gold worth Rs 1.45 crore from them.
Officials said that the identities of the accused could not be exposed, the Sudanese national, who arrived from Dubai was arrested with 1.3 kg of gold biscuits. She had concealed it in her private parts were seized.
A 42-year-old man with a German Passport, who was arrived from Dubai was arrested and 1.4 kg of gold biscuits hidden in his denim shorts.
A Kerala native also was intercepted over suspicion. After inspection, customs officials seized 500 grams of gold pieces from his rectum. He also had landed from Dubai.
