Ahmedabad: a Customs official at Ahmedabad airport here, detected two cases of gold smuggling worth Rs 50 lakh. The customs department at airport stolen four passengers who were smuggling gold.

According to the airport sources, the flight from Mumbai came to the city airport late on Saturday night. two persons from Haryana were stopped on the basis of the suspicion. The suspects were a wide belt. The gold was shaped like a hole and plated with metal. The gold in two belts was worth Rs 25 lakh, On suspicion, they searched baggage found nothing, the officials said.
After five hours, a flight landed in the city airport from Bangkok. Two person resident of Surat held on the basis of doubt. they accused were a belt. They also had the same belts on them, which about 350gm of gold on it.
In both the incident, a total of 942gm of gold worth was seized.
