On Tuesday, two housebreaks and two crime attempts were reported from middle-class residential societies in the eastern part of Pune.
In the first case, Lakshman Bhangire, (51), the residents were away in Pune when the incident occurred. The guards at the society were sleeping at the time of the robbery.
The accused broke open a lock of the door and escaped with gold kept in the bedroom. police are analysing CCTV camera footage in the society.
Police said that two other apartments in different blocks inside the same society were also targeted. They could not be broken due to external grill doors and superior locks.
In other incidents at Viman Nagar, Puneeta Prasad, (38), a resident of Pillar Homes was away when the incident happened. Unknown men broke open the lock between November 15 and 20 and stole valuables.
Police said the same thief gang could have struck the corridor at Viman Nagar, Vadgaon Sheri before escaping via Mundhwa. Police have started an investigation and will catch them.
During the earlier week, housebreak cases were reported at multiple houses at Wakad, Vishrantwadi, Shivaji Nagar among other areas across the city.
Past week, unknown men parked their vehicles in the parking lot of a society in Model Colony. Then, they took their time to crime and steal electronic gadgets at night.
They also made tries to attack ours. Police said they accused few criminals from the nearby slums.
