Hyderabad: The police arrested a notorious five-member gang on Friday and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 5.8 lakh, a two-wheeler, two mobile phones from the possession.
The accused were identified as Shaik Yousuf Basha, K Santosh, V John and Pandith Suraj, K Latchi Ram.
According to the police, the arrested were involved in 6 cases of house break-in under the limits of Rachakonda.
Shaik Yousuf Basha (27) of Guntur used to receive locked houses during the daylight by moving in the area and commit burglaries by breaking the door lock using the small-sized hard iron rod.
The other two accused K Santosh and Pandith Suraj were addicted miscreants of mobile, automobiles stealing and house thefts in police stations.
The three accused used to sell the stolen stuff to K Latchi Ram and V John for a low cost. Latchi and John, in turn, sold the stolen property to others for a high price. The accused were involved in the crimes at Abdullahpurmet and Adibatla police station.
