Man resorts to theft, robbery to impress new bride, accused held

A man robbed over 17 houses and was planning to commit more such crimes when the accused was arrested by the Dwarka district police.

The police said that the accused identified as Akash (24), to impress his bride on the first day of marriage. Akash decided to commit thefts, he thought to gift her gold and diamond jewellery.

During the investigation, the police scanned CCTV cameras footage in the area and found a dog bitting the robber. A bag full of jewellery was found his possession and he opens that the purpose behind those 17 thefts was to collect jewellery and other gifts.

The police recovered  21 stolen gold and diamond rings, three pairs of gold earrings, nine stolen gold chains, gold bracelet and gold tops, five gold mangal sutra, one stolen LCD, one Laptop and three ATM cards. The total value of the recovered jewellery is estimated to be Rs 20 lakh.
