Man held for Rs 39L jewellery theft

JHARKHAND – On Tuesday morning, Balidih police arrested a man(38), who was employed as domestic help in Mumbai, for robbing gold ornaments valued Rs 39 lakh from his employer’s home in Mumbai, said Officer-in Charge.

The complainant in case, RadhaRaman(55) Tripathi lives in Thane area along with his domestic members. According to his complaint to the Thane police in Mumbai, Tripathi said that on 1 November , 2019, one Heralal Gorai who was working as the domestic help, cleaned his bedroom wardrobe, where ornaments were placed in locker.

After finishing his work, he fled from Mumbai. Two weeks later, when he opened locker, he found the valuables missing,” an Officer from Balidih police station said.

He then approached to the local Thane police Mumbai and filed a police complaint. In his statement to police, Radharamant Tripathi said that Gorai had stolen huge yellow metal and diamond ornaments weighing 1 kilogram, all collectively worth Rs 39 lakh. Thane police registered a case against Heralal Gorai. In a joint operation with Balidih police Thane police have detained Heralal Gorai from his residence Bansiuli village under Balidih police station and recovered all the stolen ornaments from Heralal’s residence house near Balidih.
