Man gets jail for trying to sell fake gold coins

BENGALURU: A city court sentenced a man simple imprisonment for 3 months for trying to sell fake gold made coins to a jewelry shop.

The court also slapped fine of Rs 2,000 on R Gurushankar, of Mariyappanapalya in Jnanabharati.

On 10 October 2017, Gurushankar and an associate walked into a jewelry mart in Kengeri and offered to sell 300g of gold coins. But Gurushankar was caught red handed after coins were found to be fake.

Gurushankar’s associate, recognized as Raju, fled from scene and is still escaping.
