HYDERABAD: Gold weighing over 700 grams and valued at more than 25 lakhs were seized in 2 separate cases at the airport here, customs sources said Monday. In the first case, gold weighing 574.70 grams and valued at over Rs 19 lakh was seized from a passenger who arrived here by a flight from Abu Dhabi.
The gold was concealed in a juicer, Bluetooth speaker, watch dial and in a bangle, they said. All were silver coated.
Separately, a case of smuggling of gold was registered against a woman passenger, said to be a Sudanese national, the sources said. The passenger, who arrived by a flight from Dubai via Kuwait, allegedly concealed the gold in undergarments.
The gold weighing 193.7 gm and valued at Rs 6, 58,580, was seized, the sources added.
