Gold worth 35 lakh seized at Trivandrum International Airport

Thiruvananthapuram: On Friday the Air intelligence unit seized 1.11 kg gold at Trivandrum International Airport from a passenger who was travelling in Air India Express flight IX 540 from Dubai. The accused is identified as Ahamed of Kanhangad in Kasaragod.

On the bases of suspicion, the Air intelligence unit officials intercepted the passenger at the airport, while the interception the gold in the form of crude gold chains was seized from a packet of dates in the bag carried by the accused. according to the information, there were approximately 10 gold chains of different sizes and all were covered with the help of silver foils. the vale of the seized gold is approximately 35 lakhs.

A case has been registered as according to customs act and a probe has been launched.
