Gold ornaments stolen from two houses


Pune: Gold ornaments worth Rs 8.23 lakh were stolen from two houses in Wanowrie and Yerawada between October 31 and November 1.

In the first incident, the break-in came to light after Nitin Orole returned home the next day. He registered a complaint against unknown men at the police station. Orole had gone to meet his daughter on October 31. Finding the flat locked, the thieves targeted it.

Thieves broke open the lock of the flat of Orole on the second floor of a housing society in Wanowrie and stole gold ornaments and valued at Rs4.33 lakh from the locker.

The Police analysed CCTV camera footage and conducting a technical inquiry for founding the identity of the robbers.

In the second case, , Kalpana Balu Pale (50), at Rajiv Gandhinagar slums near Genba Moze School at Laxminagar in Yerawada had gone out for work on October 31.

She found her door locks broken and ornaments were stolen the next day. She has registered a complaint at the police station.

Gold ornaments worth Rs3.90 lakh were stolen after breaking the lock of the house of a labourer.

Police analysed CCTV footage and starting an investigation against unidentified miscreants and working on evidence for detecting the case.
