Hyderabad: Police arrested a chain-snatching gang of six persons, including three women, who targeted women walkers by coming close to them in an autorickshaw. Police recovered gold chains valued at Rs 1.5 lakh from them.
A woman, P. Subhalaxmi,(55), from Hydernagar, lodged a complaint with KPHB police that her gold chain weighing around one-and-a-half tolas was snatched by two persons approached her in an autorickshaw on 15 November.

When she was on way to a temple. The autorickshaw was carrying six persons and the gang was controlled by Md Raheem (21).
Raheem was free from the jail in June this year was after a PD Act was appealed against him. Then, he used to snatch chains with the accused Hymath Basha,(19).
Basha presented him to D. Prabhakar, (20), G. Lakshmi, (24), P. Lavanya,(20) and K. Radhika, (23). While snatching the chains, they use autorickshaw, instead of bikes, police said. Police recovered gold chains weighing 4.5 tolas.
