Gold and silver stolen from 3 flats


Pune: Thieves broke into 3 flats in Pimpri Chinchwad on this Saturday and escaped with gold and silver ornaments, cash and camera, collectively valued Rs4.35 lakh.

The thefts occurred at Waghire colony in Pimpri and in Rahatani.

Sandip Mulik, occupant of Stone Ridge society in Waghire colony, has lodged a report with Pimpri police stating that he had gone out after locking his flat on 14 February.

When he returned following day, he found that the locks of his flat were broken and silver and gold ornaments — together valued Rs1.71 lakh — along with the sum of Rs9,000, had been stolen from, a police officer said.

Suspects also broke into his the neighbour’s flat and stole yellow metal ornaments valued Rs30,000, the police said.

In another event, suspects broke into a flat at the Regency Paradise society in Rahatani in 8pm and 11pm on this Saturday and stole valuables valued Rs2.25 lakh. Abhijit Virgaonkar has lodged report with Wakad police.

The police said suspects stole yellow metal and silver ornaments, cash and camera, collectively valued Rs2.25 lakh, from the Virgaonkar’s flat.
