Karimnagar, Hyderabad – 6 temple thieves have been detained and stolen property of 3 tolas of gold, 710 grams of silver idol and valuables, ₹70,000 cash, four cellular phones and an autorickshaw were recovered.
According to police, they have arrested Syed Basha, Sheik Voli and Sheik Baba, and three teenagers. Two others, Syed Basha and Syed Madar, are absconding. Sheik Voli, an autorickshaw driver and innate of Turkashnagar in Jagtial district, made an eight-member gang to commit robbery at temples and locked houses.

Recently, the thieves committed a series of crimes at the temples in Garshakurthi, Mangapeta and Gattu Bathukur in Choppadandi police station circle limits.
After watching the CCTV footage, the police apprehended 6 of them and recovered the stolen stuff.
The gang had committed break-ins at 15 temples at in Jagtial, Peddapalli, Karimnagar and Rajanna-Sircilla districts.
