Bathinda: Five cases of the robbery were registered against unknown persons in the district on a single day.
Police said, Deepak Kumar, a resident of the railway colony, had lodged a complaint on August 4. An unknown person had stolen gold and silver jewellery and four mobile phones from the house.
The police have registered a case against the unknown person and have started an investigation into the incident.
Two incidents of robbery were registered at the Ballianwali police station.
Labh Singh of Jhandu Ke village, he told police that on the intervening night of August 4 and 5, an unknown person entered his house and fled with one mobile phone and two tolas of gold.
On his statement, the police have registered a case.
In the second case, Jaskaran Singh he stated that on the intervening night of August 4 and 5, an unidentified person had stolen two mobile phones from his house. The police have registered a case.
In another case, Mangat Rai of Maur Mandi had lodged a complaint with the Maur police, and he stated that a few days ago an unknown person had stolen five silver glasses and Rs 45,000 from the house. The police have registered a case against the strange person in the case.
A case has been registered against an unknown person at the Nathana police station on the complaint of Jagmeet Singh of Poohli village.
In the complaint, he stated that an unknown person had taken his motorcycle from Bucho Mandi.
