Five chain-snatching cases in the city

BENGALURU: On Saturday In distinct incidents, bike-borne chain snatchers targeted 5 women in the east and central parts of the city. According to the police the same gang could be behind the occurrences. All the occurrences took place within a duration of 3 hours.

In the first occurrence, 40-year-old domestic help Anuradha was going to an apartment for work at 9.30 am when 2 two-wheeler men snatched her gold chain and escape. She raised alarm and residents alerted police. CCTV cameras captured the footage. In another occurrence, 44-year-old Venkatalakshmi, from Kasturinagar, was returning to home at 10 am when bike-borne men pushed her and escaped with her mangalsutra.

In another occurrence, two bike-borne men snatched the gold chain from Tanuja M of Postal Colony. She was returning residence from the MS Ramaiah Hospital at 12.30pm when the criminals on a black two-wheeler targeted her. 2 other similar occurrences were reported in Hennur and Banasawadi police station limits.

The police team is analysing CCTV footage of the events and an alert has been announced to all police stations in the 7 divisions.
