Customs seize one-kilogram gold at Bhubaneswar airport


The Customs sleuths on Sunday seized gold worth Rs 31 lakh from two passengers coming from Bangkok and Dubai.

The Customs officials during search seized two gold bracelets and chains worth around Rs 31,53,620 from two persons arrived here from Bangkok and Dubai in Air India flights – AI-339 and AI-077 – this afternoon, Both the passengers had brought the gold in the form of chains and kadas.

Acting on a tip-off, The officials of the Air Intelligence Unit of Customs at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar on Sunday detained two passengers and seized gold weighing 1 kg worth Rs 31, 54, 620 from them.
