Customs officials seized 750 grams of gold at Kannur airport


Kannur – Customs officials seized 750 grams gold metals from a passenger on Monday, the market value for this yellow metal is about Rs 25 lakh, the passenger arrived from Riyadh, in Air India flight in the morning time at Kannur International Airport.

According to the Customs officials “they arrested Jamsheer of Thamarassery in Kozhikode district”.The yellow gold metals were set aside inside a bag as concealed inside the skating shoes.

According to the information, This is the second gold capture at Kannur International Airport within a duration of one month, after the commercial inauguration on 9 December 2018.

On December 26, 2018 Customs officials seized about 2 kilos of gold which is approximately valued about Rs 50 lakhs from a passenger who was identified as Muhammed Shan of Pinarayi, who arrived from Abu Dhabi.
