Warangal: The police arrested 2 thieves and a chain snatcher in 2 separate incidents, and seized jewelry valued of Rs 8.75 lakh from them. The accused were recognized as Toorpati Prasad, of Penuballi mandal in Khammam district residing in Kambalapally village, and Kalti Raju of Rajalingala village under Enkoor mandal in the Khammam district. Prasad was familiar to bad habits and started looting the locked houses in the year 2012. He was involved in 23 thefts in erstwhile Warangal and Khammam. During his sentence in jail, he makes friends with with Raju. Since then, the duo was involved in 8 thefts.
In separate incident, the Police detained a minor auto-rickshaw driver, who was involved in the chain snatching, and seized goods valued around Rs 1.50 lakh from him. The minor picked up 2 passengers to drop them at Mucharla Nagaram village from Kakatiya University Cross road and ran away after snatching the gold chain from elderly woman, Ganta Jaya. The police arrested the minor based on CCTV footage.
