Canadian woman arrested, gold seized


New Delhi – According to a Customs official, On Wednesday, A Canadian woman was detained at the airport for carrying 14 gold made bangles valued Rs 38 lakh. She arrived at the Terminal-3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) on Sunday from the Dubai.

According to a Customs official, the woman was stopped by Customs officials after she had crossed Green Channel.

Following a search, 14 gold made bangles weighing around 1,110 grams were recovered, Customs official said, adding that the total tariff value of gold was Rs 38,44,119.
