CHENNAI: On Sunday, about 20 sovereigns of gold jewellery and Rs 80,000 cash were stolen in two separate cases in Chennai.
On Sunday night, thieves escaped with at least 20 sovereigns of gold jewellery from a house at JJ Nagar.

Chandrasekar, an employee of ONGC, residing at Samson Sarojini Street, went to his native place with family and when he returned home on Monday morning.
Chandrasekhar found the main door lock was broken and about 20 sovereigns of gold jewels missing, police said.
In another case, Kamala, a native of Erode, came to Chennai to visit her daughter. She reached Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT) on Sunday evening.
Kamala was carrying a bag containing Rs 80,000 and boarded an MTC bus for Virugambakkam. Within a few minutes, her bag was stolen. She lodged a complaint at CMBT police station and an investigation is on.
