Amritsar – 2 houses and a shop have been robbed in the city in just 24 hours. In the 1st case, a shopkeeper, named Pardeep Singh, complained to Chheharta police that unknown person/s stole Rs 1,38,000 from his shop in Chheharta main market on the night of 28 July. The thieves entered shop through roof.
In the 2nd case, criminals struck at a residence in Civil Lines area and took away jewelry, along with other valuables.
Complainant Ritesh Suneja said that his brother Mohit Suneja, along with his family, went to Canada around 15 days ago so his residence at Race Course Road in Shastri Nagar has been locked. On Tuesday, Mohit Suneja phoned Ritesh to update that someone had interfered with CCTV camera of his residence. Upon reaching there, Ritesh found residence thieved as ornaments, cash and DVR of CCTV camera were missing.
In another case, Sadar police detained a person for stealing taps from a house. The accused has been recognized as Krishan Yadav, of Dayanand Nagar. According to the House owner Gurmej Singh he, along with his family, locked his residence at FGC bypass, near Beri Resort, and went to his native village. when he returns on Wednesday, he found that locks had been broken and taps were missing from his bathrooms and kitchen.
