Afghan Man Arrested for Trying to Smuggle 32 kg Gold


AMRITSAR: In a big action, on Thursday, according to the Customs Department they have seized over 32 kilograms of precious gold from an Afghan national, who has been arrested and put under custody.

The precious gold was weighing around 32.65 kilograms was seized, the accused is identified as Adel Saeed Ghulam, all the above-mentioned yellow metal was seized from Adel Saeed Ghulam, according to an official statement by the Commissioner (Customs) Dipak Kumar Gupta said.

According to Mr Gupta the gold was hidden inside an apple consignment and was seized at the Combined Check Post (ICP) in Attari. Ghulam was detained under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962, he added in the statement.
