The city police team probing the twin robbery case that happened in Kochi took three accused to the crime scene at Pullepady and Puthuvype on Sunday morning to collect evidence.
The city police took Ilkaram Maqbool, 30, Salim, 40, and Muhammed Haroon, 46, were taken to the house at Pullepady and some other locations in the city in the morning.
Police said that at least five more accused were yet to be nabbed in the case in which the gang robbed two families in Kochi, after breaking into their homes and taking them hostage. They were among the 15- member gang.
The case pertains to the incident on December 15 in which several armed assailants broke into a double-storey house in Pullepady and slashed the wrist of an elderly woman.
They robbed ornaments weighing five sovereigns worn by her after assaulting her husband. The armed robbery happened around 3 am in the house of a retiree, E K Ismail.
The next day, the same group with 11 members broke into the house of Nannappilli Anandakumar near Hill Palace. They tied up the family members and decamped with 50 sovereigns of gold, 3 mobile phones and ₹20,000 in cash.
According to another officer, added that their modus operandi was to loot houses along railway tracks.
