Mumbai- On Thursday, Officials of Central Excise and Customs seized gold weighing 11 kilogram from Mumbai-bound Jnaneswari Express between Rajgangpur and Jharsuguda.
Acting on an information about smuggling of valuable gold, the officials conducted a raid on moving train and seized yellow metal biscuits estimated valued around Rs 4 cr. The train was en-route to Mumbai from Howrah.
The sleuths also detained 2 persons and grilled them in this
connection. Both held persons are reportedly residents of Mumbai. For further
investigation, the officials later handed the 2 over to Bhubaneswar Central
Excise and Customs officials, according to sources.
