TIRUMALA: On Wednesday, Tirumala crime police arrested 4 persons for their involvement in a major theft that happened in Manimanjari Guest House on 3 July. The accused stole the diamond jewellery, Ruppes 2 lakh cash and other valuables.
The theft caused a sensation as it happned in Padmavathi Nagar, which houses the several guest houses frequented by the VVIPs. Relatives of former Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy stayed in guest house and they noticed theft of diamond jewelry, cash and other valuables kept in 1 of rooms in the early morning.
The police nabbed 3 of accused while they were discussing their share in stolen loot. Based on their exposure, the 4th accused was caught. The detained are Kannoru Srinivasulu of Balaji Nagar, E Sithaiah of Tirupati and Jagannadham Anjaneyulu and Sri Ram Srini from Markapur.
Police seized the gold valued Rs 3.2 lakh and Rs 80,000 from quartet. 2 more accused involved in theft are yet to be arrested.
