Ludhiana: The Court of Additional Sessions Judge named Rajiv Berry has convicted 2 two snatchers identified as, Bijla Yadav of Gogna village, Samastipur( Bihar) and Parveen Kumar of Gumar village, Sonipat (Haryana), in a snatching case.
Both accused get the imprisonment for 5 years and Fine of Rs 10,000 on each of them was also imposed.
On March 7, 2016 A case was registered at GRP Police station, Ludhiana, by complainant Jatinder Singh.
The complainant had detailed that he along with his wife Renu Sharma were going from Pathankot to Bareli in the train.
Near Ludhiana railway station an unidentified person snatched the purse of his wife and jumped from the running train. According to him, purse contained a gold chain, a ‘mangal sutar’, a pair of earrings, a necklace, two pairs of silver anklets, 2 mobile phones and Rs 9,000 cash. On reaching Bareli railway station, she lodged the complaint before the GRP.
On April 11, 2016, during the investigation, the above mentioned stolen mobile and gold ‘mangal sutar’ was recovered from a person named Parveen Kumar. He detailed in the disclosure statement that he along with another person named Bijla Yadav were together while committing the crime. Later, Bijla Yadav was also detained.
After rising the evidence on record and convinced with submissions of APP BD Gupta, the court found the both accused guilty.
