2 Gold bangles stolen from store

Pune: On Sunday, Airport police detined a man and a woman for stealing 2 gold bangles worth Rs1.5 lakh from a jewelry store in a mall on Ahmednagar Road on 8 November.

According to the Police man sporting beard and a burqa-clad woman visited store on pretext of buying gold ornaments between 5.30pm and 6.00pm. The salesman at counter showed them some bangles. The woman selected 2 of them and wore them in her hands. The couple diverted the attention of salesman and walked out without buying or returning bangles.

Assistant inspector of the Airport police said, “The store authorities found the 2 bangles missing while checking stock. Analysis of CCTV cameras confirmed participation of man and woman in stealing ornaments.”

He said, “Investigations revealed that they walked out of mall and fled in a waiting auto rickshaw”

The store director lodged an FIR under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code(IPC) after the theft.
