On Wednesday, 15kg of silver ornaments worth Rs 4.5 lakh was stolen from Dholeshwar Mahadev temple near the Sabarmati river in Gandhinagar area.
Rajendrasinh Vaghela, trustee of the temple. He told in his complaint that on Tuesday morning, his nephew had gone to the temple and when he found that the door of the temple’s office was broken and ornaments of the idol were missing. Immediately his nephew informed Vaghela.
Vaghela found out that somebody had locked the door from outside. Cash and around 15kg of silver ornaments from the idol were stolen from the temple by robs.
During the investigation, the police analysed CCTV camera footage from the temple. CCTV footage showed. Four of them stood outside the temple while two entered in the temple and stole the valuables.
The police have started an investigation to identify the thieves and further investigation is on.
