William Hart is considered the “father of natural gas” for excavating the first natural gas well in America.
It is said to be 27 feet deep, a small feat, given that now wells can be more than 30,000 feet deep.
Natural gas is nothing new and most of the natural gas that is brought out from below the ground is millions and millions of yrs old.
But it was not until newly that methods for finding this gas and bringing it to the surface, putting it to use remained developed.
Previously there was an understanding of what natural gas was and it modeled a mystery to man.
